Student Employment


Tutors

Work in conjunction with the SSA staff in communicating and documenting student progress to academic advisors, learning specialists, and athletic department personnel. Attend mandatory tutor training meetings with the SSA Learning Specialists. The ideal candidate is a graduate student with previous tutoring experience (at least one year) and also has an above average knowledge of the subject they are wishing to tutor.

Undergraduates with these same qualifications will be considered as long as they hold a junior or senior status. Qualified candidates will have attained at least junior standing, a cumulative 3.0 GPA, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and have detailed knowledge of a specific subject area and/or a broad knowledge of many general education areas.

Front Desk Assistant

This position requires the Front Desk Assistant to act as a resource guide. This means being knowledgeable about the John E. Jaqua Academic Center for Student-Athletes, where items are located, etc.

The Front Desk Assistant is an important position that should be taken seriously and professionally. Although we strive to maintain a light atmosphere, you are the first point of contact for our department and thus need to be personable, reliable, helpful and dress appropriately.

Student Computer Support

SSA manages a wide array of technology and requires individuals to assist in maintaining them. As an OSX environment we ask any applicants to have a commanding knowledge to assist users with their technology.

On top of this we look for people committed in providing excellent customer service. Day to day tasks are trained but technical skills with printers, audio/video hookups, and major software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite are a plus.
